Grant’s Mercantile is up and running, and if you know about us, you know that we don’t sit still for long! While the rest of Garrett County was hunkering down for the winter ahead, we dug the foundation for the Cornucopia Café!
Sitting next door to Grant’s Mercantile in Grantsville, MD, The Cornucopia Café will serve a fresh, local-food centered menu featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Visitors will enjoy a scrumptious selection of frittatas, paninis, fresh pasta, soups and salads, and other light fare; and a bar with beer, wine and homemade sodas. A to-go counter for specialty coffee will be a hotspot for morning commuters and anyone looking for a delightful mid-day pick-me-up. Hand-dipped ice cream will star in the summer months, especially on the pet-friendly outdoor patio that overlooks the Casselman River.
We believe that The Cornucopia Café will be the go-to spot for casual dining in our end of Garrett County! A great place to meet up with a friend for a small plate and glass of wine, or with a group – we even plan to host a book club!
Just 12 miles from the Lodge, and next door to Grant’s Mercantile, the historic site is an interesting destination for locals and tourists alike! Peruse the Spruce Forest Artisan Village or check out the view from the historic Casselman River Bridge to experience firsthand the rich history of the area. In fact, Cornucopia is what the tract of land was called before Daniel Grant arrived and gave Grantsville its current name.
